From Zero to CTO: The Self-Taught Engineer Who Gets Hard Problems Done
Tran Doan Hien is the CTO of Glinteco. He has spent around 7 years building software, and in that time has grown from backend developer to leading the company's technical direction.
Hien's path into technology was not the usual one. He graduated in Maritime Transport Economics from Vietnam Maritime University in 2018, taught himself to code, and found his place in software soon after. He joined Codignify as a backend developer, working alongside Hoa, now Glinteco's CEO, before helping build Glinteco.
Because Glinteco works mostly with international clients, Hien has shipped production software for companies around the world, including DSTax, Herv.ai, ResumeGenie, STLPro and others. The work spans HRM, CRM, ERP, and AI systems, which has made him comfortable moving between very different domains and picking up whatever a project needs.
His core strengths are system architecture and AI integration, working mainly in Python and Django. As CTO, he is the one who decides how things are built so they stay solid as they grow.
What keeps him going is simple. He loves technology and he loves solving hard problems. His working philosophy is just as direct, get the task done, which is exactly what you want from the person responsible for delivery.
Away from work, Hien runs, cycles, looks after his cats, and spends time with his kid.
